Small droopy white 5 petal flowers bloom in April. In May flowers give way to bountiful green berries that darken to purple in early July. Edible berries can be used for pie or jam. Dark green leaves fade to remarkable yellows and red in autumn. Grows in partial shade to full sun; low maintenance and attracts birds.
